Illinois Sector History

Illinois Sector was officially established on July 30, 2005 to be the governing body of five establish entities in the states of Illinois and Wisconsin.  Formed by alumni from our fraternity's Alpha Omicron Chapter at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, Illinois Sector grew from having only nine undergraduate members and a handful of alumni to over fifty Brothers in the area composed of undergraduate, graduate and professional fields.  This represents a similar theme in the history of Lambda Theta Phi: forming a strong support structure to allow for the growth and development of each and every Brother.

One of the primary goals of Lambda Theta Phi is to create a system of pipelines; one that uplifts our disadvantaged communities, one that ensures our academic success at colleges and universities, and one that leads our Brothers in distinguished careers as leaders of our society. These pipelines are not recessive, they are progressive in all areas of life (i.e. social, political and economic).  Illinois Sector has done well in providing a system to guide our entities towards reaching this goal.  We have seen Brothers develop innovative strategies for ensuring their academic success, developing tools for their professional development, as well maintained the civic engagement of each and every chapter.

Although Illinois Sector is one of the youngest entities in our National Fraternity, we have kept up with the vision that our Founding Fathers have set forth for us.  We pride ourselves as being leaders in our communities, serving as role models to younger students, as well as bringing change through a positive and constructive force.  As our fraternity expands, our impact in our communities will be much greater.  We look forward to helping our total community each and every day.
