Did you know that…
* Between 40,000 to 60,000 people are newly infected
with HIV every year?
* Half of those newly infected are under the age of
24?
* 25% of those newly infected do not know it?
* New York AIDS cases account for approximately 18% of
all case in the US?
Despite advancements made in the treatment and prevention of HIV, the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that the overall rate
of infection continues to rise. This year,Lambda Theta Phi formed a team
for AIDS Walk New York to help those in our community either affected or
infected by HIV/AIDS.
